Kimberly Michelle Cox

Kimberly Michelle Jones Cox, 57 years old of Lynchburg, VA, departed this life on September 22, 2026 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was born on December 14, 1968 to Evelyn Smith and the late Hatley “Bug” Jones, Jr. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Booker Cox, infant brother Hatley Jones III and stepfather Charles Smith Sr.

Kimberly joined Silver Grove Baptist Church at an early age and served on the Usher Ministry. Kim loved spending time with her family. Her Mother was the apple of her eye. She was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and loved the color red.

She is survived by 1 son Quentin Jones; 4 sisters: Tammy Dews, Margie Miller (Jessie), Patricia Harris; and Nicole Gordon (Pete); 3 brothers Michael Jones (Angie), Charles “Chucky” Smith, Jr. and Thomas Daniel (Amy); 2 grandchildren: Mait`e Jones and Semaj Jones; a devoted aunt, Margie Fleming and a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2026 from 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg Va., Also a Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 28, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Silver Grove Baptist Church, Rustburg, Va.
