Kimberley Marie Thomas

Kimberley Marie Thomas, 52, of Concord, Virginia, passed away on March 17, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Harry Petsch of New York and Glenda Grey Fort (Stephens) of Lynchburg, VA.

Kimberley was born on July 13, 1973, in Melbourne, FL. She attended school at Heritage High School in Lynchburg, VA, then pursued her BS in Social Work at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA.

Kimberley spent many years helping children and families in the community at various agencies. She loved working with the community and helping families get the services they needed.

Kimberley is survived by her husband of 20 years James E Thomas Jr; daughter, Hannah N Thomas (Camryn Oliver – fiancée); granddaughter, Lakelynn R Oliver; siblings, Stephen Petsch (Lynchburg) and Bambi Rongo (GA); and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Kimberley is preceded in death by Howard and Angeline Stephens (grandparents) of Lynchburg, VA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Red Cross of Central VA and Lynchburg Humane Society.

A memorial service will be held on March 28, 2026, at 4 pm at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory with James Nuckols officiating. A visitation will be held on March 28, 2026, from at 3 pm at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory.
