Kevin Cook

Kevin Cook, of Lynchburg, Virginia, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2025. A 1975 graduate of Bethel High, he honorably served his country in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he began a career at NN Shipyard before establishing and operating Cook Appraisal Service.

Known as the life of the party, he had a vibrant spirit that lit up every room he entered. He was an avid outdoorsman who found great joy in hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his first wife, Andrea Lay; his loving partner, Peggy Hill; and his children: Tara Pope and her husband Lawson of Yorktown, VA, Andrew Cook of Poquoson, VA, and Corri Hill of Chesapeake, VA. He was a devoted grandfather to Vivian Pope, Lawson Pope, Gavin Pope, Addison Pope, and Tristan Cook.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Vivian Cook; brother, Howard Cook Jr., and his nephew, Howard Cook III.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
