Listen to Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kerri Anne Koberlein, age 38, who passed away on January 5, 2026.

Kerri was born in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, and grew up in Roanoke, Virginia. She later moved to East Windsor, New Jersey, where she formed many meaningful friendships that remained close to her heart throughout her life. She attended Hightstown High School and later graduated from Jefferson Forest High School in Forest, Virginia. Kerri pursued higher education at Central Virginia Community College, where she obtained two associate degrees, before transferring to Lynchburg College, where she earned a double major in Economics and Social Sciences.

Above all else, Kerri was a devoted and loving mother. Her greatest joy in life was her two children, Reese and Jaxon, who were truly the center of her world. Everything she did was for them, and her love for them was endless and unconditional. Her legacy lives on through her children.

Kerri was a cherished daughter, sister, and friend. She is survived by her loving mother, Beverly Koberlein, of Forest, Virginia; her sister, Kelly Donahue (Andrew), of Roanoke, Virginia; her beloved children, Reese and Jaxon; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Koberlein.

Kerri had a vibrant spirit and a warm, joyful presence. She loved capturing life’s moments and was known for her many selfies—memories that now serve as treasured reminders of her beautiful personality. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Kerri is now at peace.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to UVA Medical Center for the outstanding care, compassion, and kindness shown to Kerri and her loved ones.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted on January 17th at 1:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home in Lynchburg, Virginia. Friends are invited to remain following the service to visit with the family.

Kerri’s love, strength, and devotion will never be forgotten, and she will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
