Kenneth Anthony Huggins

Kenneth Anthony Huggins, of Rustburg, VA, formerly of Wellsburg WV, passed away on September 15, 2026, at the age of 89. Kenneth was born on November 5, 1936, to parents Arnold Porter Huggins and Genevieve Lemley Huggins in Mannington, WV.

Kenneth proudly served his country as a member of the United States Naval Reserve. He also built a long working career, spending many years until his retirement in 1999 with Koppers Industries. His dedication and strong work ethic was seen by all who knew him.

Kenny was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Jane Ochsenbein Huggins, who passed away on May 2, 2024. They were married for 65 years, and the loss of his wife marked the end of an extraordinary era built on devotion, perseverance and a lifetime of shared love. They raised their children in Wellsburg WV making sure they lived and taught the love of God to their family and friends through their daily lives. They later made homes in FL and VA. In retirement, they had many adventures as they traveled and lived in an RV for many years, visiting family and seeing the United States. They eventually settled in Rustburg VA where they were close to all their children.

Above all else, Kenneth was a family man, and was deeply devoted to his three children, Kirk (Ann), Laura Martlock (Rob), Brenda Holzknecht (Tom); his grandchildren, Ian (Mariah), Christopher, Sarah (Brad), Mason (Bethany Louise), Airenn, Shawn, Audrey (Joshua), and Bethany Erin; and 7 great-grandchildren with 2 more arriving in the coming months.

In addition to his parents, Arnold and Genevieve Huggins, Kenny is predeceased by his siblings Arietta Hunt, Melvin Huggins, Betty Morrison, June Martino, Lottie Brown and Charles Huggins.

All who knew Kenny, knew the man he was. He loved the Lord, and was kind, honest, helpful and wise. He had a gentle spirit and was the cornerstone of his family, always offering to help in any way he could. He was a member of several Bible-believing churches over the years as they lived in different states and most recently, Hyland Heights Baptist Church.

To honor Kenneth’s memory a small Celebration of Life will be held at a later time.
