Kenneth Lee Chumbley

Kenneth Lee Chumbley, 83, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2025. Kenneth was born in Lynchburg, Virginia, on September 26, 1941, to the late Tinnie Chumbley and Zella Keith Chumbley. He was preceded in death by his wife, the late Judy Gowen Chumbley. 

Affectionately called Chum by Judy from the day they met, Judy and Kenneth were married for over 53 years. They were a devoted couple and enjoyed many adventures and interests over the years. Riding around in the mountains, renovating houses, restoring Judy’s beloved Fiat convertible, and simply enjoying time at home with family are just some of the things that made them happy. 

Kenneth is survived by his daughters, Christy L. Chumbley and Kelly L. Chumbley. He was a proud Papie to his granddaughter, Kayleigh E. Chumbley. 

Kenneth served in the U.S. Army, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was a member of American Legion Post 274 for over 40 years. 

He was employed with Western Electric as an installer. He continued his employment in the telecommunications sector as an installation manager for AT-PAC Telecom.
