Katrina Jane (Beam) Roh

With quiet dignity and abiding faith, Katrina Jane (Beam) Roh passed from this life on the 23rd of July 2025, at the age of 66, following a brief illness. A woman of rare gentleness and inner strength, she bore all things with patience and care, touching the lives of those around her with quiet devotion and the greatest kindness.

Born in West Virginia to Bruce G. Beam and Nancy R. Smith, Katrina was raised in the mountain wilds of her native land — a place shaped by endurance, reverence, and the memory of those who came before. From that high country she drew a quiet strength and an unshakable love for the Lord. She carried through life the virtues instilled in her from the beginning: resilience, candor, and an abiding faith. Her joys were not sought in acclaim, but in the enduring gifts of God, family, and home.

She is survived by her adoring son, Travis C. Roh, who rises to bless her name; by her beloved sisters, Pennye, Beverly, and Joan, who walked beside her with loyalty and deepest affection; and by her many nieces and nephews, each of whom she loved without reservation. Her memory is carried, too, by the lives she touched: those who found in her a listening heart, a ready smile, a quiet wisdom that asked nothing in return, and a generosity that flowed freely from a soul inclined always toward giving.

To her son, she was a wonderful and devoted mother: unconditionally loving a wit unmatched, and full of light and grace. The time shared between them is held with reverence, and her devotion is cherished beyond measure.

She is also remembered with great affection by Douglas L. Roh, father of her son and her dearest friend; a companion through the many seasons of this life, bound always by their love for the son they both cherish.

To her family, Katrina was a steady and sheltering presence — a lamp kept lit through winter’s night, a voice that calmed, a hand that never withdrew. Her love was constant, her faith unshaken, her grace unfeigned.

We do not speak farewells, for we know that one day, by God’s grace, we shall meet again.

A private service will be held in her honor. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that acts of gentleness and kindness be offered to others in her memory, as she so often offered them herself.

“Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.”

— Proverbs 3:17

“I lift up my eyes to the hills — from where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”

— Psalm 121:1–2
