Kathleen “Jon” Frazier Bagby, 94, of Rustburg, Virginia, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the love of her family that she cherished so deeply.
Born on June 6, 1931, she was the twelfth of fourteen children born to John Ocie Frazier and Hessie Keesee Frazier.
She was the loving and devoted wife of Charles “Charlie” Samuel Bagby, whom she married on April 16, 1949. They shared many wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2002, just one month shy of their 53rd anniversary.
Kathleen worked for over 33 years at Sears & Roebuck, first in the catalog department and later in customer service. Affectionately known as “Bugs” by many of her coworkers, she formed lifelong friendships there and stayed in touch with many of them through cards, phone calls, and thoughtful notes over the years.
A lifelong member of Rustburg United Methodist Church, Kathleen dearly loved her church family and attended faithfully until her health no longer allowed. Her church community and their support meant the world to her.
She found great joy in sending and receiving cards, always taking time to let family and friends know they were loved and remembered—both in times of joy and during life’s more difficult moments. Kathleen was a woman of deep love, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear.
Kathleen is survived by her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Susan Bryant and Mike; her cherished grandchildren, Erin Hawkins (Bill) and Sarah Hamlett whom she considered to be a granddaughter; and her great-grandsons, Charlie and Matthew Hawkins who were the absolute joy of her life. She is also survived by her brother, Edward “Buster” Frazier (Mary); sister-in-law, Lorene Cox; special niece, Donna Hamlett (Donnie); special nephew, Edward Tribble; and many other beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Karissa Davidson, Helen Wood, Mildred Williams, Louise Coleman, Pearl Cyrus, Julia Cyrus, Emma Sue Rector, Lloyd Frazier, Herman Frazier, Louis Frazier, J.O. “Junior” Frazier, Jr., and Clarence “Bill” Frazier.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Centra Hospice for their loving care and support, especially Jennifer Williams and Pam Keiron.
