Katherine Smith Iseman

Katherine Smith Iseman went home to be with her heavenly Father on June 25, 2026. She was born June 11, 1936.

Katherine worked as a Dark Room Technician at Lynchburg General Hospital, where her dedication and diligence left a meaningful impact on her colleagues and those she cared for. She attended Church of God of Prophecy until she fell sick.

Outside of her career and family life, Katherine found great joy in travel. Over the years, she explored the United States with her husband and family, creating great memories together that included special trips to Hawaii, Mexico, and Alaska.

Katherine is survived by her daughters, Wanda I. Booker (Robbie) and Donna I. Bryant (Tommy); grandchildren, Brooke Johnson, Thomas Bryant, and Katie Bryant; great-grandchildren, Vivian Johnson and Nellie Johnson, special niece, Cheryl Witt; and very special grandchildren to her heart, Thomas and Katie Bryant.

She is proceeded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Woodrow C. Iseman; Elise J. Witt, who raised her; sister, Evelyn Whitting; and her brother, Earl P. Jordan.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Katherine’s caregivers over the years: Kathy Kerr, Brenda Robertson, Heather Hall, Carol Hall, the Hospice Staff, and the staff at Greenview Manor.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service. Lunch will be served after the memorial service at Church of God of Prophecy, 2213 Cobbs St, Lynchburg, VA, 24501.
