Karoline (Kay) Happell Albee

December 26, 1930 — September 16, 2025

Karoline (Kay) Happell Albee went to be with her Lord on September 16, 2025 in Lynchburg, Virginia. She was 94 years old. She was born in West Orange, New Jersey on December 26, 1930, the daughter of Frederick and Lillian Weidner Seibel. She was married to John J. Happell for almost 50 wonderful years. Her marriage to her second husband William Albee, lasted 14 wonderful years. Both marriages were a precious gift from the Lord.

She is survived by her son, Eric Happell and his wife Constance of Columbus, Georgia, and grandchildren Alexander Happell of Columbus, Georgia, Brian Happell (Danielle) of Charlotte, North Carolina; Jack Blawie of Naugatuck, Connecticut, Father Brendan Blawie of Fairfield, Connecticut and Marion Blawie Brown (Aaron) of Kingston, New Hampshire; great granddaughter Virginia Brown; and her stepdaughter, Heather Albee Michaud of Ocean City, Maryland. She was predeceased by her husbands, John Happell and William Albee; her daughter, Karen Happell Blawie; her siblings, Florence Rourke Baumann, Frederick Seibel, Dorothea Seibel Stumpf, Robert Seibel, and sister in law, Adelaide Happell Flaherty.

Kay was a registered nurse. She graduated from the Orange Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Orange, New Jersey. She was a long and faithful member of Rivermont Evangelical Presbyterian Church. She served as a Sunday school teacher, taught at Pioneers and Vacation Bible School, and volunteered with the Red Cross Blood Bank, Hospice, and the Christian Woman's Club. For the last 24 years, she lived at Westminster Canterbury in Lynchburg.

She loved Lynchburg, her family, her country and her Savior. She was grateful to God for her many blessings.

A memorial service will be held at the chapel at Westminster Canterbury at a later date and a private family burial will take place in Newtown, Connecticut. Andrews Ave. Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33309.
