June Carter Heptinstall

June Heptinstall, 89 of Lynchburg, Virginia passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2013. She was the wife of the late Lt. Colonel Fred B. Heptinstall Sr.

 Born in Leesville, VA, she was a daughter of the late Charles L. Carter and the late Euphan P. Carter.

 June was a tax accountant, loving mother and a leader in her community and church. She graduated from Altavista High School in Altavista, VA class of 1939 where she was the President of the Civics Club, President of the S.C.A. of Campbell County and a cheer leader and graduated from Blackstone College in Blackstone, VA class of 1941. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution (Colonel Charles Lynch Chapter), the Order of the Eastern Star and Chestnut Hill Baptist Church.

 She is survived by her children; Frankie J. Hall, Fred B. Heptinstall Jr., Charles L. Heptinstall and Terry C. Heptinstall, two sisters, Rachel Carter Weldon and Helen Carter Goldsmith, 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and her loving \"friend\" Randolph Cosby.

 In addition to her husband she was predeceased by daughter, Debra L. Heptinstall, brothers, Lewis C. Carter, Calvin P. Carter, and W. Adolphus Carter.

 The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:30 PM on Friday, April 12 2013 at Tharp Funeral Home 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg, VA 24502.

 A Memorial service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Chestnut Hill Baptist Church, 5225 Fort Avenue, Lynchburg, VA 24502 with Randy Bower officiating.
