Joyce Ann Stulgis-Blalock

Joyce Ann Stulgis-Blalock, 82, of Bedford passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025. She was born in New Kensington, PA on December 7, 1942. A daughter of the late Frank Anthony Stulgis and Rosalia Hotkowski Stulgis. In addition to her parents Joyce was preceded in death by her brother, Stephen Stulgis; Sister, Theresa Stulgis.

Joyce graduated from Plum Borough High School in 1960. Afterwards she attended the Novitiate at The Sisters of Saint Joseph where she attended Carlow College and recieved her Bachelor's degree in Education. She went on to teach at St. James Catholic School in Apollo, PA and later at Mother of Sorrow Catholic School in Murrysville, PA. Joyce finished her teaching career with Fairfax County School District and was a very passionate Science teacher. Many of her students went on to join the National Science Foundation. Her hobbies consisted of arts and crafts and spending time with her family and friends.

Joyce is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Charles “Ron” Blalock, whom she married on August 17, 1992, and her brother, Francis “Frank” Stulgis and his wife, Cheryl. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. She was loved by so many and will be missed in the days ahead by her family and friends.
