Joyce Jones Krantz

Joyce Ann Jones Krantz, 83, of Bedford passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Oakwood Health and Rehab while surrounded by her loving family. Joyce was born in Roanoke on June 12, 1942. The daughter of the late William Cecil Jones and Mabel Virginia Anderson Jones. In addition to her parents, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, Joyce was preceded in death by her late husband, Calvin Rucker “A.C.” Krantz.

Joyce was a member of Thaxton Baptist Church. She worked for Rubatex in Bedford for 33 years and was so proud of her longevity and having never missed a day of work in her career. Her quick wit, sense of humor and determination to make others laugh was always so evident. The love for her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandson, gave her so much joy. She was loved dearly and will be missed in the days ahead. Her legacy will continue through her kids, grandkids and friends. The circle will not be broken.

Left to cherish her memory are, sons, Randy C. Krantz (Dina), Jeffrey D. Krantz, and Steven M. Krantz (Jenny); grandchildren, Brittany K. Butler (Bret), Spencer C. Krantz, Emily K. Botteicher (Bradley) and Abbie E. Krantz, and great grandson, Bedford James Butler, brother in law, Dennis W. Krantz (Margie), and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Special friends, Albert and Nancy Yates.

A funeral service and celebration of Joyce’s life will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Tharp Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ethan Strickler and Pastor Alan Hullette officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service starting at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow the service at Thaxton Baptist Church Cemetery.
