Jordan Jeffrey Brown

Jordan Jeffery Brown, 68, of Amherst, Virginia, passed away on September 14, 2026, at Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born on November 16, 1957, in Bedford County, Virginia, he was the child of Mr. Randolph A. Brown and Mrs. Hazel G. Brown.

Jordan loved the Lord and was a devoted family man. He dedicated his life to serving others and impacted everyone who came into his path. The church and his community center became his motivation and reason for living. We can’t forget his love for the Dallas Cowboys and his guitar. The business owner of a barber shop and lawn care service, street smart and savvy, to say the least, he knew a little about a lot!

Jordan is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dianne C. Brown; two daughters, Catherine N. Brown (Michael Brown) and Jacqueline M. Vowels (Manuel Vowels); three sons, Cameron J. Brown, Calvin J. Brown, and Allen W. Brown (Valita Brown); six grandchildren, Lamont, Jasmine, Carrie, Brianna, Tatianna, and Daniel; goddaughter, Shauna Brown; four godgrandchildren, Tomas, Destani, MyAsia, and great-godgrandchild Komorra; siblings, brother, George (Buddy) Brown; four sisters, Shirley Taylor, Cheryl Hall (Handy Hall), Pamela Brown, and Marcellia Beverly; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Jordan was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Randolph A. Brown and Mrs. Hazel G. Brown; grandson, Timmell M. Smith; brother, Elburn (Leon) Brown; and sister, Carolyn Gregory.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Madison Heights. A chapel service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. A repast will follow the service.
