John Norvell Moon
John Norvell Moon, 64, of Goode, Virginia, died on Sunday, May 23, 2010, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was the husband for 25 years of Vivianne Moon.
Born, February 22, 1946 in Lynchburg, Virginia, he was the son of the late James Norvell Moon, Jr. and the late Eva Jones Moon.
He proudly served his country from 1968 to 1972 as a Sergeant in the U. S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, John Norvell Moon, Jr. and his wife, Christie, James Ryan Moon and his wife, Anne Marie all of Jacksonville, FL, and Christopher Lee Moon of Concord, VA, and his brother, James Robert Moon and his wife, Jordan of Port Vincent, LA.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 -7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg with a memorial service to follow at 7:30 p.m. Military honors will be provided by the National Guard.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #8, 2337 Lakeside Drive, Lynchburg, VA 24501.
