John Joseph Pesco, 86, of the Elks National Home, Bedford, died Tuesday, November 1, 2011. He was born October 26, 1925 in Poughkeepsie, New York, a son of the late Virginia Traudt Pesco and Joseph Pesco.
John served in the United States Marine Corps and was a graduate of Syracuse University. He retired after 35 years as the Director of Human Resources with Continental Can Company. He was a parishioner at Trinity Ecumenical Parish and a member of the American Legion Post # 77. He enjoyed golf, photography and watching Army and Navy football games.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his eldest son, Steven John Pesco. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Dorothy \"Dottie\" Jane Redderoth Pesco; three children and their spouses, Carol (Kenneth) Laguens, James (Juanita) Pesco and Judith (Roger) Coins; three grandchildren and their spouses, Richard Piet, Beth (Tom) Carter and Kathy (Trey) Haddock; two great-grandchildren, Sydney and Austin Carter; one sister, Miriam Holden; and numerous nieces and nephews.
John will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
