Joan Chambers Beale

Joan Chambers Beale, 90, of Lynchburg, passed away at her home on Thursday, January 30, 2025. She was the loving wife of Everette Beale for over 68 years.

Joan was born on September 6, 1934, in Lynchburg, a daughter of the late Robert L. Chambers and Susie Flint Chambers. Joan was retired from both the Lynchburg Women’s Clinic and Tharp Funeral Home and was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter Stephanie B. Elcan and husband George of Lynchburg, a son Everette Lee Beale of Lynchburg, three grandchildren: Sarah Catherine Elcan, Rebecca Margaret Turk and husband Andrew, and Adam Seth Elcan, and two great grandsons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Rebecca C. Watson, Robert L. Chambers, Jr., and Alice C. Dooley.

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Centenary United Methodist Church, 1501 Rivermont Ave. Lynchburg, VA 24503.
