Jewell Snow Rowland

Jewell Snow Rowland, 84, of Lynchburg went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 27, 2026. She was the loving wife of the late Glen Raymond Rowland.

Jewell was born on October 1, 1941, in Roanoke, Virginia, a daughter of the late John Frank Snow and Ethel Mitchell Snow. Jewell was retired as an accountant with Workman Oil Company and was an active member of Elim Assembly of God in Altavista.

She is survived by her three sons: Kelly Rowland of Lynchburg, David Rowland and his wife Marie of Lynchburg, and Mark Rowland and his wife Denise of Forest, four grandchildren: Amber Novosel and husband Phillip, Joshua Rowland, Evianna Rowland, and Mychael Cathey, four great-grandchildren, and one sister Betty S. Krantz of Lynchburg.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Angela Rowland, a grandson Matthew Rowland, and a sister Norma Wade.

A memorial service for Jewell will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Tharp Funeral Home Chapel in Lynchburg with Pastor David Rowland officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held privately by the family at Spring Hill Cemetery in Lynchburg.
