Jeannette Frances Reynolds Banton
Jeannette Frances Reynolds Banton, 69, of Lynchburg, VA, died Thursday, April 29, 2010, at Virginia Baptist Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Damascus, VA, June 15, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Arthur E. and Lucy W. Reynolds of Madison Heights. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David Allen Banton, and a sister, Shirley Reynolds Staton.
Jeannette is survived by three daughters, Debbie Riley and her husband, Mike, of Lynchburg, Dianna Byrd of Rustburg, and Donna Martin of Chesterfield; two sisters, Dorothy R. Smoot of Troy, IL, Irene R. Stinson and her husband, Rev. Charles L. Stinson, of Forest; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Alan Podosek and his nurse, Kathy Jones, Dr. Jeremy Hardison, Dr. John Olmsted, Guggenheimer Nursing Home, and the palliative care nurses of Centra Health Hospice of the Hills for their kindness, care and compassion shown to Jeannette.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. tonight, April 30, 2010 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. in Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Charles L. Stinson and Rev. Dr. B. Steven McNeely officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Centra Health Hospice of the Hills, 3300 Rivermont Avenue, Lynchburg, VA, 24503.
