Jaunett Louise Switzer Neighbors, 70, of Lynchburg died Tuesday August 19, 2013. She was the loving wife of Warren B. Neighbors, Jr. for exactly 40 years.
Jaunett was born August 30, 1942 in Moberly, MO, a daughter of the late Charles Edward Switzer and Dorothy Coffman Switzer of Ozark, MO. Jaunett had a Masters Degree in Business Education from Truman University in Kirksville, MO, and retired in 2006 from Central Virginia Community College after 31 years of service as an Associate Professor. She was a member of the National Business Education Association, the Virginia Community College Association, the Virginia Business Education Association. She wrote and published one gospel song \"The Mighty Oak\". Warren and Jaunett sang at numerous nursing homes and with the church band \"Saving Grace\". Jaunett played piano, organ, was a choir director and taught piano. She was a member of Langhorne Chapel Community Church.
In addition to her spouse and mother, she is survived by one daughter Tonesa Ann Musser of Vinton and her husband Matthew C., a son Warren B. Neighbors, III and his wife Penny Jill of Forest, a brother Kenneth Edward Switzer of Ozark, MO., three grandchildren: Lauren-Marie Evelyn-Cole Neighbors, Harmony Dove Musser and Canton Matthew Musser, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday August 21, 2013 at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg. A Celebration of Jaunett\"™s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday August 22, 2013 at Langhorne Chapel Community Church 15777 Leesville Rd. Evington with Pastor Dwight Weaver, Jr. officiating.
