James Russell Neighbors

James Russell Neighbors, 86, of Madison Heights passed away peacefully at his home with his wife Patricia Ann Neighbors of 40 years at his side.

James was born on October 17, 1938, in Lynchburg, a son of the late James Andrews Neighbors and Emma Franklin Neighbors. James honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and was the owner operator of N & M Form Setters in Madison Heights.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son James Douglas Neighbors (Irene), daughter Jennifer Silvia, five grandchildren: Ashley Robertson (Cody), Alicia Garcia (Steven), James William Neighbors, Tyle Silvia (Kate), and Joshua Silvia (Makaylie), two great-grandchildren: Carter Robertson and Marshall Silvia, his siblings: Doris Smoot (Bobby), David Neighbors, and Frances Leonard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Linda Maddox.

A Graveside Service for James will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 20, 2025, at Amherst Cemetery, in Amherst, with Pastor Duane Gregory officiating.
