James Carl “Cotton” Hensley

James Carl \"Cotton\" Hensley, 55, of Bedford, passed away Tuesday, December 3 2013. Born February 15, 1958 in Winston Salem, NC; he was a son of George Hensley and Nancy Harpe Overstreet.

Cotton loved his family. He especially loved spending time with his only son, Josh, and his grandson, Eli. He enjoyed reading, music, playing the guitar, and western movies.

Cotton was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Hensley, and a sister, Dedra Hensley. Cotton is survived by his wife, Jennifer L. Hensley; father, George Hensley and wife, Shirley; mother, Nancy Overstreet; children, Georgia T. Hensley, Charlotte H. Dunham and husband, Todd, Fanny A. Gordon and husband, Jon; Joshua R. Hensley; a grandson, Elijah Gordon; a sister, Danette G. Hurt and husband, Brian; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A celebration of Cotton\"™s life will be conducted 12 noon, Saturday, December 7, 2013, at Tharp Funeral Home.  Arrangements by Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford, 540-586-3443.
