Jacqueline "Jackie" Greene Lipford, 75, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully departed this world on August 30, 2025, surrounded by the love she so deeply shared. Born on December 8, 1949, in Baltimore, Maryland, Jackie was raised by her devoted grandmother, Melvina Greene, and aunt, Kenneth Wood, in Lynchburg, Virginia. It was here that her spirit flourished, and she nurtured her strong faith in God, which guided her through life’s many challenges and triumphs.
Jackie's warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone she met. She was a beacon of love and strength, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. A proud graduate of Dunbar High School and Phillips Business College, she carried the lessons learned into her career in the mortgage industry and as a mother and grandmother, instilling values of compassion and resilience in her family.
Jackie leaves behind two loving daughters, Crystal Forrester (William Forrester, Jr.) and Chandra Lipford, who will always carry her spirit in their hearts. Her legacy shines brightly through her two grandsons, William Forrester, III and Kian Forrester, who brought her immense joy and pride. She also leaves her beloved sister, Linda Carroll, her long-time friend Brenda Farmer, and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
Though Jackie was preceded in death by her caring grandmother Melvina, her aunt Kenneth Wood, and her parents, as well as a brother and two sisters, their shared memories will forever live in the hearts of those she loved. Her absence will be felt deeply, but her love and her light will never be forgotten.
A graveside burial ceremony will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Forest Hills Cemetery, Lakeside Avenue, Lynchburg, VA 24501. A celebration of her remarkable life will be held in Richmond, Virginia, at a later date, where all who were touched by her grace can gather to honor her enduring spirit. Jackie Greene Lipford, a beautiful soul, will forever be remembered and celebrated by all who had the immense luck of knowing her.
