Henry Kenneth Hawkins

Henry Kenneth Hawkins, 89, of Lynchburg, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

Ken was born November 23, 1936, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Henry Hawkins and Bernice Sherry Hawkins. Ken graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in chemical engineering and was manager of Rubatex’s six rubber plants before retirement. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, was an avid bridge player and loved sports - especially the Pittsburgh Steelers. Above all he loved his family and was loved and cherished in return.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Patricia Reilly Hawkins, daughter Sharon Kimberly Chesson and husband Mike, son Kyle David Hawkins and wife Nichole, and daughter-in-law Tina Hawkins, his grandchildren: Jillian O’Brien and husband Craig, great grandson Logan, Tara Straight and husband David, great granddaughter Ariana, Kelly Marsh and husband Casey, great grandson Chase, Kent Hawkins, Ellie Hawkins and Laini Hawkins and his sister Karen Hawkins Casali and niece Sherry.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Kenneth Patrick Hawkins.

A memorial service for Ken will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 2 PM.
