Hazel McGuire

Hazel McGuire, 90, of Lynchburg, Virginia went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, November 1, 2025.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Carlton A. McGuire and her sister, Shirley Martin.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia M Anderson and husband, Thomas of Lynchburg. She is also survived by her grandson, Steven Anderson of Lynchburg; granddaughter, Julie Ritenour of Woodstock and husband Derek; along with her great-grandchildren, Anna Grace and Lucas Ritenour of Woodstock.

Hazel worked at GE/Ericsson for over 30 years. She loved to travel all around and she sang with the Ageless Wonders. She volunteered at Lynchburg General Hospital for many years and will be missed by many.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Runk and Pratt on Leesville Road in Lynchburg for the care extended to Hazel during the last three years.

A Graveside Service will be held at Fort Hill Memorial Park on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 11 a.m. Pastor Derek Ritenour will be officiating the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks others to donate towards the Lynchburg Humane Society or towards a special charity of choice in honor of Hazel.

Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
