Harvey Beale Carlton

Harvey Beale Carlton, 94, of Bedford passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Bedford County Nursing Home. He was born in Washington D.C. on September 13, 1931, a son of the late Joseph C. Carlton and Rosa Nell Carlton. In addition to his parents Harvey was preceded in death by his daughter-in- law, Sally Carlton.

Harvey loved the Lord and was a longtime member of Concord Baptist Church. He was an army veteran of the Korean war. Harvey loved woodworking, fishing, and college football, especially his favorite team, Virginia Tech.

Harvey is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Lorraine Dyson Carlton; sons, Clifton Carlton and wife Donna, Douglas Carlton and wife Jenny, grandchildren, Lauren Hooks and husband Doug, Jessica Carlton and husband Cris, Erin Poland and husband Burke, Great-grandchildren, Douglass Hooks, Jillian Hata, Landon Poland, Addisyn Poland, Parker Carlton, and numerous other family and friends.

A celebration of Harvey’s life will be conducted at Concord Baptist 15625 Concord Rd. Ruther Glen, Virginia 22546, 11:00 am Wednesday, May 6, 2026, with Pastor Michael Gunter officiating.
