Harry Wayne Pillow

Harry Wayne Pillow, 82, of Lynchburg, Virginia, passed away on March 31, 2026. He was born on December 8, 1943, in Newport News, Virginia to the late Harry Martin Pillow and Dorothy Smith Pillow.

Wayne worked for many years at G.E. and Ericsson. He was a lover of fishing, hunting, Nascar, the Commanders (Redskins) and the NY Yankees.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dianne. He is also survived by his daughters Cheryl Simpson (Marty) of Raleigh, NC, and Kristen Coch (Jon) of Aldie, VA; six grandchildren Justin (Megan), Alex, Andrew, Maddie, Christopher and Alayna; brothers Donnie Pillow (Virginia) and Mark Pillow (Valerie), and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Wayne is preceded in death by his sister, Gloria Dawn Pillow.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Heart Association or St. Jude Children’s Hospital. 

A visitation will be held on Tuesday April 7, 2026 at 1 PM at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory with a memorial service to follow at 2 PM.
