Harry Lee Morris, Jr., 58, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. at Lynchburg General Hospital, after courageously fighting a hemorrhagic stroke for two weeks.
Born and raised in Scottsville, Virginia, Harry attended Albemarle County Schools before beginning his career with Albemarle County as an Information Technology Specialist. He later relocated to Lynchburg, Virginia, where he spent 20 years serving in various roles within Centra Health’s Information Technology Department. Harry held deep respect for his Centra family, and their support in his final days reflected the impact he made on those around him.
Harry was a gentle and generous soul who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. His happiest days were spent at the beach, specifically the Outer Banks of North Carolina. At home, he loved tackling remodeling projects and took great pride in the house he built into a home. Above all, Harry’s greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was his daughter, Kiley. Anyone who knew him knew how devoted he was as a father. And while he’d never admitted it, he also adored spending time with his spirited shih tzu, Abby, Kiley’s dog, who was his faithful companion.
Harry is survived by his daughter, Kiley Elizabeth Morris; Kiley’s mother, Nina; Kiley’s grandparents, Glenn and Peggy Dillon; the Luther Family; his close friends, Michael Jones and Michelle Dalton; and his extended Centra family, whom he cherished deeply.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home in Lynchburg, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, Kiley requests donations to the American Stroke Association or the Centra Foundation, in honor of Harry’s life and legacy of care.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg is assisting the family.
