Harold ”Deutz” Otey Crouch, 88, of Evington, passed away Friday, October 31, 2025. He was the devoted husband of the late Jean Moore Crouch for over 48 years.

Harold was born February 7, 1937, in Campbell County, Virginia, a son of the late Nick Otey Crouch and Beatrice Monroe Crouch. Harold retired after 30 years from the Lynchburg Foundry and was a member of Langhorne Chapel Community Church in Evington. He was also a familiar and friendly face at the County Line Café, where he enjoyed spending time with friends and neighbors.

He is survived by his five children: Samantha Crouch (Doug), Sharon Crouch (Wayne), Allen Crouch, Wade May, and Linda St. John, four sisters: Helen Lawrence, Shirley Crouch, Reva Walls, and Joyce Crouch, five grandchildren: Dakota Crouch, Stephanie Crouch (Jake), Hannah Crouch, Dawson St. John, and Logan St. John, five great-grandchildren: Alexis Parker, Carson Walker, Jackson Crouch, Beckett Walker, and Karson St. John.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg.

A Celebration of Harold’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 10, 2025, at Langhorne Chapel Community Church in Evington with the Rev. Dwight Weaver and Mr. Jeff Stump officiating. Interment will follow at Leffler Memorial Community Cemetery.
