Gislinde Brunhilde Hauser Kinzler passed away on August 12, 2026, in Bedford, VA. Born on August 20, 1937, in Germany, Gislinde’s life was a testament to artistry, dedication, and quiet strength that touched all who knew her.

Gislinde was the beloved daughter of Philipp Hauser and Ida Redmann Hauser, both of whom preceded her in death. Throughout her life, she cherished memories of her family and the values instilled in her from a young age in Germany.

As a young girl, Gislinde grew up in Germany, where she developed a profound appreciation for both tradition and artistry. She resided there until her high school years, before immigrating to the United States. Settling first in Little Falls, New York, Gislinde attended high school and began forging a new chapter of her life that would be defined by resilience and adaptability.

Following her time in Little Falls, Gislinde moved to Camden, New Jersey. It was there, at a German Maennerchor, that she met her beloved husband, Werner Henry Kinzler. Their union blossomed into a loving family, which they raised in Pennsylvania. Together, they created a home filled with warmth, culture, and mutual support.

Eventually making her home in Bedford, Gislinde built a life dedicated to hard work and integrity. Her professional years included a fulfilling career as a Title Clerk, a role in which her diligence and reliability stood out to colleagues and clients alike.

Beyond her career, Gislinde’s artistic spirit flourished. Known by friends and loved ones as “very artistic,” she found immense joy in hobbies that allowed her creativity to bloom. Gardening and floral design were particular passions—her home and those of friends were often brightened with beautiful arrangements and carefully tended blooms. Gislinde’s gentle touch and keen eye transformed the ordinary into the extraordinary, making her gardens and designs a living testament to her love of beauty and nature.

Family always held a place of deep importance in Gislinde’s heart. She shared many years of companionship and partnership with her late husband, Werner Henry Kinzler. Together, they built a home grounded in mutual respect and shared joy. Gislinde is also preceded in death by her sister, Gisela Schosman. Those who have gone before her remain dearly remembered in the hearts of all who knew Gislinde.

She was a devoted, active member of Living Grace Bedford Lutheran Church. The friends she made there became more like family to her.

She is survived by her children, Renate H. Edington and husband, Michael, George Philipp Kinzler and wife, Ann-Marie, Karl Henry Kinzler and wife, Kelsey; grandchildren, Kalee Bartel and husband, Mike, Michael, Jr., Audrey, Bridget and Henry; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Lydia; sister-in-law, Ilse Kirchgessner and niece, Elaine Lopez.

Although Gislinde’s life has come to a close, the legacy she leaves behind endures—in the art she created, the gardens she nurtured, and the lives she touched along her journey. She will be remembered for her warmth, her creativity, and the steadfast spirit she brought to all her endeavors.

Those who knew and loved Gislinde Brunhilde Hauser Kinzler mourn her passing, and she will be deeply missed. Her legacy of artistry, dedication, and kindness will remain cherished by all grateful to have shared in her remarkable life.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026 at Living Grace Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Peaks Community and Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
