Gerald Alan Scott

Gerald Alan Scott, 75, of Amherst, passed away May 20, 2025, in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Gerald was born December 1, 1949, in Troy, New York, a son of the late David Bartlett Scott and Jeanne Tweedie Scott.

Gerald was a professional machinist by trade with Shibuya-Hoppmann in Amherst, Virginia. Gerry had a love of cars since he was a teenager. He loved building race cars and drag racing. He loved to talk and joke around. He was well liked and had many friends.

He is survived by his sister, Nancy Scott Scherer and her husband Randall of Chesapeake; one nephew, Christopher and his wife Casey; great nieces, Caitlyn and Cara Scherer of Chesapeake; one niece, Megan and husband Jonathan; great nephew, Jansen; great niece, Corryn Dail of Kitty Hawk, NC; one Aunt and Uncle and multiple cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Roger Scott.

Interment will be held privately in Walton, New York at a later date.
