George Henry Corring, Jr., age 71, passed away on February 19, 2026, in Fincastle, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Henry Corring, Sr. and Henrietta Walker Corring.

George is survived by his children, Katie, William (Kimberly), and James (Jaclyn), and his granddaughter, Charlotte, all of whom he was immensely proud of.

George shared his home with his long term companion, Regeana Sandidge, who graciously acted as a caretaker for him in his final years. Her willingness to care for and support George through many periods of his life is greatly appreciated by the family.

A man with an infectious personality and natural charm, George had a way of engaging with anyone he met. He had a quick wit and a gift for making people laugh, always bringing energy and warmth to the conversation. Whether he was talking sports, playing cards, or sharing his love of classic television shows like Gunsmoke and The Andy Griffith Show, George was never without something interesting to say. He was also known for his hands-on skills and intelligence, with a particular talent for fixing just about anything.

George’s signature style was simple but unmistakable—he was often seen in his Liberty overalls, New Balance sneakers, and a Dallas Cowboys Starter jacket. But more than his wardrobe, it was his humor and engaging nature that made him unforgettable.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Carilion Clinic Hospice for their compassionate care during his final days. Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford is assisting the family.
