Garry Edward Prentiss, 64, of Bedford passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at his Residence. He was born in New York on June 17, 1962. A son of the late Edward Charles “Ed” Prentiss and Diane Garrison Prentiss.
He loved fishing, hunting, gardening, animals, especially his dogs, and riding his Harley. These simple joys reflected his appreciation for life and nature. He attended school in both New York and Tennessee. He worked as a talented carpenter all over the east coast. In his later years, he worked to reconnect with family, make right the wrongs of his past, and grow closer to God. With the help and support of his Aunt Linda and Uncle Jay, he was able to get started on this new chapter of his life. He studied the Bible and shared morning sermons with his daughter, creating a meaningful bond after many years apart. His efforts reflected a desire for a fresh start, reconciliation, and a closer walk with the Lord. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. II Timothy 4:7”
Though their time together was short, their calls, FaceTime conversations, and shared memories will be treasured forever. He will be remembered for the joy he found in life, his efforts to make things right, his growing faith, and the love he shared with those around him.
Garry is survived by his three children, Amy Darrough and her husband, William David, DeWitt Noxon and his wife, Brittany and Hunter Ferrari; five grandchildren, Layla Ouggin, Thomas Coppola, Kendrid Coppola, Kenya Willis and Aspyn Ila Rain Peach; five great-grandchildren, Lillian Ouggin, August Ouggin, Angel Kye Coppola and Kenalay Evelyn Snipes; one sister, Darlene Bower and her husband, Rod; two aunts, Linda Walter and her husband, Jay and Dr. Laurel Harms and her husband, Brian.
