Gail Howard Ring

Gail Howard Ring, 68, of Lynchburg, Virginia, passed away on April 6, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Roy E. Howard and Merle H. Howard.

Gail was born on October 14, 1957, in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Gail was a Dispatcher for Lynchburg 911 for 20 years and retired as an attendant aid for Campbell County Schools.

Gail is survived by her husband, Ricky L. Ring; two sons, Corey A. Ring and wife, Jenny Ring, David L. Ring, and wife Melita; and grandchildren, Kendrick Ring, Lillie Ring, Harper Ring, Charlotte Ring and Hudson Ring.

In addition to her parents, Gail is preceded in death by her brother, Wayne Howard; uncles, Kenneth Higginbotham, Robert Higginbotham, George Higginbotham; and aunt, Becky Foster. Gail was also preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Dola Ring and William E. Ring ; and one sister-in-law, Donna R. Smith.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to any animal shelter as she loved her dogs and cats.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2025, at 4:30 PM at Tharp Funeral Home with Randy Higgins officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior.
