Fred Alan Brooks
Fred Alan Brooks, 66, of Amherst, died Sunday, January 10, 2021. He was the husband of Lanelle Montgomery Brooks for 17 years.
Born on April 5, 1954, he was a son of Cecil R. Brooks, Sr., and Barbara Franklin Brooks. Fred was a graduate of Amherst County High School and was employed by Commercial Glass in Lynchburg. He enjoyed camping with his wife and friends, fishing, and working in his garage.
In addition to his wife and parents, Fred is survived by his brothers, Cecil Brooks, Jr. (wife Deb) and Donnie Brooks (wife Martha); his sister, Wanda Brooks McGee (husband David); and his stepson Lowell Steele (wife Robin).
A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
