Eunice Fariss Neighbors

Eunice Fariss Neighbors, 85, of Gladys, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Fariss and Mabel D. Fariss.

She was born on August 28, 1940, in Gladys, Virginia. She attended school at William Campell High School and Phillips Business School. She then pursued her career as a high school secretary at Lynchburg Christian Academy until she retired in 2006.

She was a lifelong member of Thomas Road Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching and encouraging kids at LCA, from elementary to high school, to grow into champions for Christ. Her true passion, however, was watching her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren grow and to love on them every day of her life.

In addition, Eunice Fariss Neighbors, is survived by her children, Hannah Neighbors Shelton (Mark), Albert E. Neighbors III (Melissa), Amy Neighbors Hart (Bill); grandchildren, Jon Eric Shelton (Erin), Alexandra Lynn Pizzichillo (Lou), Jessica Hart Brockett (Jimmy), Nicole Kathryn Hart, Ethan William Hart, Emma Taylor Hart; great grandchildren, Eric Bradley Shelton, Mia Lynn Pizzichillo, Logan Robert Pizzichillo, Bennett Turner Shelton; siblings, Deane Fariss (Glen), Kaye Fariss, Lucy Campbell (Don) and many loving friends in the community.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Albert E. Neighbors, Jr.; siblings, Floyd Fariss and Joe Fariss.

A funeral service will be held at Tharp Funeral Home (Lynchburg) on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jonathan Falwell officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to Liberty Christian Academy (Formally Lynchburg Christian Academy).
