Eulanea Evans Whittle, 83, of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away on January 16, 2026. She was born on February 3, 1942, in Lynchburg, Virginia, to the late Charles E. Evans, Jr. and Elsie Jackson Evans. Over the years she was fondly known as “Densie”.
Eulanea was baptized at ana early age at Court Street Baptist Church. She faithfully attended Church and Sunday School at Court Street until she graduated in 1963 from Dunbar High School in Lynchburg, Virginia, and moved to New York.
Later in life, she met the late Daniel C. Whittle, III, to this union one child was born, Danny Whittle.
When Danny was five years old they decided to move from New York to Montgomery, Alabama. Eulanea worked for the phone company in New York and later in Montgomery, Alabama before retiring. She later went on to join Lily Baptist Church after moving, and enjoyed dog racing, casinos, travelling, and hosting scrumptious meals at her home.
In addition to her loving husband, Daniel C. Whittle, III, and her parents, Charles E. Evans, Jr. and Elsie J. Evans, she is preceded in death by sisters in law, Betty Whittle Berry, Evelyn D. Moore, and Alma A. Whittle
She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted and loving son, Danny Whittle; siblings, Charles E. Evans, III (Patricia), Madeline Evans Hadley, John T. Evans, and William A. Evans; a devoted sister in law, Mabel Evans Wells, Juliette Whittle and Mary Ellen Jeter; nephews, Kenneth Evans, Bryan Evans, Gregory Evans, Stacy Evans, Jevon Evans, and Leonard Hadley; nieces, Beverly Evans, Collen Evans, Tracy Evans, Yvette White, Kim Evans, LaSonya Evans, Sheryl Spinner, and Michelle Robinson; and a host of grand nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Lilly Baptist Church, 820 Hill Street, with Rev. Dr. Willie Welch, III officiating. She will be laid to rest at Brassell Cemetery under the direction of E. G. Cummings Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation is set for Friday, January 30, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, and she will lie in repose one hour before the funeral service.
