Ellis Wayne Tyree, Sr., 69, of Monroe, Va., died Monday, December 17, 2018. Born November 14, 1949 in Lynchburg, Wayne was a son of the late Ellis Harden Tyree and the late Mary Grace Tyree. He was the companion of Mrs. Frankie Darnall for many years.
In addition to Frankie, Wayne is survived by his sons; Ellis Wayne Tyree, Jr., and his wife, Christian, and John Roy Tyree, a brother, Roger Tyree and his wife, Carolyn, a sister Deborah Howard and her husband, Kenny, five grandchildren, and a nephew, Stephen.
Wayne was retired from Griffin Pipe. He was an avid Civil War Historian.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 12:00 p.m., Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Tharp Funeral Home, Madison Heights. A celebration of Wayne’s life will follow at 12:00 p.m., on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Tharp Madison Heights. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
