Elizabeth Roll Tuck (Betty Mae), 70, of Lynchburg, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the loving wife of Preston Tuck for 51 years.
Born in Lynchburg, July 24, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Frances Wooldridge Roll Thomas and the late Jack Leonard Roll. She was a member of Amelon United Methodist Church. Before retiring she operated a florist for 35 years, specializing in weddings. She also taught floral designing for 25 years. Betty Mae belonged to the Sunset, Garden Path and Richland Hills Garden Clubs. She was also a member of the Christian Women\"™s Association, and volunteered at Virginia Baptist Hospital in discharge. Betty Mae loved to play cards, especially Canasta.
In addition to her devoted husband she is survived by one daughter, Vicki Tuck Ore and husband, Jason of Lynchburg; one son, Steven Tuck of Lynchburg; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Roll of Murrells Inlet, SC, and Billy Roll of Natural Bridge, VA. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael A. Tuck.
The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30p.m., Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday March 31, 2011 at Amelon United Methodist Church with the Rev. Paulo DaSilva and Rev. Dr. William P. Tuck officiating.
