Elfreda Nietzold Matott, 95, of Moneta, died on Friday, November 19, 2010 at Bedford Memorial Hospital. She was born on April 8, 1915 in Kemtau, Saxony, Germany daughter of the late Emil Ernst Nietzold and Elsa Lina Weiss Nietzold.In addition to her parents, Elfreda was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Charles Arthur Matott.She was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and active in the United Methodist Women\"™s Club, the Moneta Senior Citizens Club and the Moneta Garden Club. Throughout her life she took in many strays and gave them a loving home. She loved stuffing bears to be given to children in hospitals.Elfreda is survived by two daughters, Joanne G. Matott, Chester, Conn. and Judy Johnston and her husband, Lee of Moneta; a grandson, David Johnston of Moneta; two great-grandchildren, Amber Phillips and Chase Johnston; and a special niece, Janet Smith and her husband, George of Bedford.The family would like to thank the third floor nursing staff for their caring and compassionate care of their mother.
