Dora Dempsey Lacy

Dora Dempsey Lacy, 78, of Amherst, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025.

She was the daughter of the late Berry Dempsey, Sr. and Eula Richardson Dempsey. Dora was born on December 9, 1946, in Lynchburg, VA. She attended school at Amherst County High School. Dora was a member of Timothy Baptist Church.

Dora leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Kevin Dempsey, Lexington, VA, and Carlton Lacy, Lynchburg, VA; three grandchildren, Tori Gallagher and Christian Lacy of Lynchburg, VA, and Patric Dempsey of Philadelphia, PA; two great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Jeanette Carpenter, Goldie Hardman, and Elizabeth Nowlin. She will also be remembered by nieces, nephews and many relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Dora was preceded in death by her brother, Berry "Joe" Dempsey, Jr.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
