Dollie Switzer Henderson

Dollie Switzer Henderson, of Rustburg, VA, passed away on December 24, 2023. She was born in Craig County, Va, on July 21, 1934, a daughter of the late Leslie Atkins Switzer and Virginia Meador Switzer. She was a great mom and grandmother to her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a loving husband of 65 years, Hugh T. Henderson; and two brothers, Bruce Switzer and John W. Switzer.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Turman Henderson (Linda), of New Castle, VA, and Les Henderson (Tammy), of Rustburg; four grandchildren; one brother, Les Switzer (Karen), of Roanoke, VA; one sister, Peggy Robertson (Jimmy); and one sister-in-law, Ducky Switzer.

Dollie loved her family, flowers, and sitting on her back porch watching hummingbirds.

A funeral service will take place Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment with follow at Virginia Memorial Park.
