Jun 6, 1946 — Jun 18, 2026

Listen to Obituary

Dianna Hatzell Bolton-Wingfield entered into the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 18, 2026, just days after celebrating her eightieth birthday on June 6. Dianna was born in Conway, Arkansas, and soon thereafter she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in California where she spent most of her life before relocating to Lynchburg, Virginia, in 2016.

Dianna lived a life marked by resilience, devotion, and faith. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose greatest desire was to care for those she loved. As the mother of three sons, she worked tirelessly to provide for her family and to give them the best life possible. While life brought its share of challenges and difficult seasons, she faced them with determination and an unwavering commitment to her family.

Above all else, Dianna was a woman of deep faith. Her relationship with Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life. Through seasons of joy and hardship, she continually turned to the Lord for strength, guidance, and comfort. She loved being a part of her church family, worshipping through song, serving others, and sharing the hope she found in Christ with those around her.

Dianna’s family will remember her strength, perseverance, love, and the example of faith she left behind. Though her absence leaves a tremendous void, we find comfort in knowing that she is now fully healed, restored, and rejoicing in the presence of her Savior. The promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ gives us peace as we grieve, knowing that this goodbye is not forever.

Dianna is survived by her three sons, Scott, Christopher, and Andrew, their families, and the many grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives, and friends who were blessed to know and love her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Erma Hatzell, her sister, Carolyn, and her late husbands, Haskel Bolton and Wayne Wingfield. Her legacy will live on through the generations that follow her and the faith she demonstrated throughout her life.

As her family reflects on a life well lived, we can rejoice in the hope that she heard the words found in Matthew 25:23, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

A celebration of Dianna’s life will be held at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, VA, on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 3pm, with family receiving guests at 2:30pm. A graveside service will follow at Virginia Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family encourages others to honor Dianna’s memory by spending time with loved ones, serving others, and placing their trust in the Savior she loved so dearly.
