Diane
Brown
Oct 26, 1946 — Jun 24, 2026
We celebrate the life of Diane Virginia (Donigan) Brown, age 79, who passed away on June 24, 2026 in Lynchburg, Virginia. She was a woman of extraordinary beauty, strength, perseverance, compassion, and grace who lived a life full of unyielding love.
Diane obtained a Bachelor’s degree from Columbia College and later retired from Ford Motor Company. She adored African American art and figurines, creating the first pecan resin Kwanzaa family figurine for her Donigan Collection company. She was an avid gardener, loved traveling around the world, and amazed others with her arts and crafts. Her home was open to friends and family where she constantly demonstrated her love for others. When you visited with Diane, you saw family photos displayed across the walls and throughout her entire home—every surface held a cherished memory and she made everyone who entered feel warm and welcomed.
Diane had a willingness to always help and support others, an unwavering commitment to family and friends, and a generous spirit that will be remembered always by those who knew and loved her. Although she has departed from this earthly life, Diane's legacy of kindness, love, and light will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Diane, was the beloved daughter to the late David and Maggie Donigan. She is preceded in death by her late husband, Arthur Brown and longtime partner, John McGee.
Diane, a proud mother of her two sons, is survived by Jamal (Sandra) and Marcus along with her grandsons, Judah, Tsion and Kingston.
She is also survived by William (Deloris), Welford (Jacquelin), and Clara Brown, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and devoted friends.
