Denise Sandidge, 55, of Lynchburg, Virginia went to be with the Lord on August 9th, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Edward Sandidge and Rosa Mae Sandidge.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Sandidge, and devoted grandparents, Martha Sandidge and Smith Sandidge.
Denise was born on April 17th, 1971, in Amherst Virginia. She attended Amherst County High School and was employed by Avante Nursing Home and Dunbar Middle School.
Denise was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister who cherished her family with steadfast devotion. She inspired others with her joyful spirit, and throughout her illness, she never lost her faith in God.
Denise is survived by her six children: Nikco Sandidge (Tiffany) of Amherst, Virginia; Cecily Meekins (Walton), Mashaun Sandidge (Gracie), Shnekita Scott (Derick), Kendra Sandidge (Hector), and Zinia Sandidge, all of Lynchburg Virginia; along with 19 beautiful grandchildren, whom she held dear to her heart.
She is also survived by nine brothers and sisters: James Sandidge ( Florence) of Nelson County, Virginia; Martha Sandidge of Salsbury, North Carolina; Ronnie Sandidge (Lisa) of Amherst, Virginia; Annette Sandidge of Lynchburg, Virginia; Brenda Wesley of Madison Heights, Virginia; Renee Cabell of Altavista, Virginia; Sidney Sandidge (Barbara) of Amherst, Virginia; Preston Sandidge ( Kimberly) of Amherst, Virginia; Bessie Sandidge of Lynchburg, Virginia, along with a large, loving family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family members and friends.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Fairmont Crossing, Centra Hospice, and Lynchburg Health and Rehabilitation for the compassionate care and kindness they provided during Denise’s health journey.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, Amherst. The family will be receiving friends at 154 Laurel Drive. Madison Heights, VA.
