Deborah Lynn Birckhead

Deborah Lynn Birckhead, 54, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Lynchburg General Hospital in Lynchburg, VA after an extended illness.  She was a native of Montgomery County NC born to the late Wiley and Mabel Birckhead of Troy, NC.

 

Debbie was a graduate of the University of NC at Greensboro and the school of nursing at Lynchburg College.  She loved her cats, gardening, the mountains and the beach.

 

Surviving family includes her sisters Brenda Livingston (Sherman) of Troy, NC and Becky Nelson (Jack) of Winston-Salem, NC and brother Tom Birckhead, Jr. (Kim) of Troy, NC.  Also surviving are a niece Meghan Housley (Brandon) and nephews Adam Birckhead, Chip Hurley (Cheryl), Travis Hurley (Danielle) and Shane Beck.

 

A memorial service will be held at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Troy, NC at 2:00 PM Sunday, October 10 followed by a time of remembrance by family and friends in the church fellowship hall.

 

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
