Daniel Michael “Dan” Chartier, 64, of Montvale passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026. He was born in Grafton, MA on August 22, 1961. He was the son of the late John Cornelius Chartier and Marien Shocik Chartier.
Dan was a retired COL. in the United States Army with 28 years of service. He remained an officer and a gentleman. Dan was very happy with his career and the ability to serve the country he loved while making great memories and building lasting friendships around the world. He earned his master’s degree in chemical engineering. He was a Godly, selfless man and devoted husband, father, brother and most recently a grandfather. He was so proud of his family, especially his children, and loved each of them dearly. Dan was an admirable, determined, dedicated and trustworthy friend to so many. He loved the outdoors while hunting, fishing, hiking, and going for long walks. He loved God’s creation and found peace in every little detail. Dan was a Beekeeper, a volunteer, always willing to help someone in a time of need but most of all he was a humble yet gentle soul who will be dearly missed. Many years of his life were spent with Boy Scouts Troops, church mission trips, mentoring and community needs.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Cindy Chott Chartier; four children, Christian Daniel Chartier, Emily M. Chartier (Steve Carrillo), Nathaniel John Chartier and Jacob Samuel Chartier; one granddaughter, Rilynn Carrillo; three siblings, John Chartier (Dana), Jim Chartier (Eva) and Susan Turner (Steve).
