Daisy Wood, 96, of Lynchburg, died Wednesday, August 9, 2016. She was the wife of the late Whittie Thomas Wood.
Daisy was born in Campbell County, a daughter of the late George Lee Smith and the late Mary Elizabeth Childress Wood. She was a member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church and retired from G.E.
She is survived by her children; Douglas Wood and his wife, Miriam of Lynchburg, Sheila Paxton and her husband, Steve of Huddleston; a brother, Claude Smith and his wife, Wangfei of Roanoke, and four grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be conducted.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Lynchburg Humane Society, 1211 Old Graves Mill Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24502.
