Cyrus Samuel Burns, II, 76, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Monday, February 9, 2026, after an extended battle with cancer. He was a longtime member of the Bath County Piney Mountain Cloggers, where he competed for many years and built long-lasting friendships through music and dance. More recently, he relished being part of the Striper Gang at Smith Mountain Lake, where he was affectionately known as Ol’ Fart and loved sharing his passion for fishing, always keeping the secret spots sacred.

Sam will be remembered for his love of family, his steady presence, his love for the outdoors, and the way he generously shared his knowledge, stories, and time with those he loved
