Mother Clara Belle Robey entered eternal rest April 7, 2026. Born November 05, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Joshua Spradley, Mattie Spradley Smith and the daughter-in-law of the late Joe Robey Sr., and Nina B. Robey. She was the wife of the late Walter Louis Robey, Sr. She is the mother of two sons: Elder Walter, Jr., and Godfrey, and three daughters: Overseer Sarita Harris, Elder Deborah (Larry) Harvey, and Evangelist Patrice Jordan.
Mother Clara was a Christian, mother, and homemaker. She was nurturing, virtuous, diligent, giving, kind, a steward, devoted to fostering a Christ-centered home. Clara was a wise, patient, and prayerful woman. Serving her family with love, joy, and selflessness, while serving as a firm example of faith.
Mother Clara joined 5th Street Baptist Church at the age of 6 and later Bible Way C.O.G.I.C. She also served other ministries in Lynchburg as well.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Russel and Joshua, Jr., four sisters, Bernetta Bolden, Pearl Spradley, Mabel Cobbs, and Doris Chilton. Two sisters-in-law, Catherine Robey Fleshman and Doris Robey. Four brothers-in-law, Joe Robey, Jr., John Oliver Foster, Allen C. Robey, and (Bishop Robert) Ford. Two grandchildren, Carisa Robey and Apostle Ricky Harris, Jr.
She is survived by her sister Lucille Johnson, Elder Janice Ford, Evangelist Ruth (Pastor Emmanuel) Knight. Two brothers-in-law, Howard Bolden, and Walter Cobbs.
In addition, she leaves to carry on her legacy a host of grandchildren. Christopher, Daytonya, Lawanda, Walter III, Gary Jr., Courtney, Ebone, Quentin, Blake, Monique, Monet, Brooke, and Rita. She also has a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. As well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and many devoted family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 12 P.M. at Tharp Funeral Home in Lynchburg. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
